Jacqueline Keenaghan MIACP MA Counselling & Psychotherapy. Addiction Studies.

Jacqueline is a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist graduating with a MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy and is an Accredited Member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).  She holds qualifications from The University of Limerick, Athlone Institute of Technology, Irish College of Humanities and Sciences, and The Addiction Training Institute of Ireland.  She is trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST), Skills-Based Training on Risk Management (STORM) and Children’s First Guidelines. Jacqueline has worked with STOP (Suicide Prevention Organisation) for the last 3 years

Jacqueline also has a Diploma in Parent/Child Psychology and a Diploma in Eating Disorders as well as a Certificate in Mindfulness Meditation and has completed The Gatekeepers Course with GROW (World Community Mental Health Movement in Ireland).

Jacqueline has worked in the Ark Counselling Service for a number of years working with Adults, Adolescents and Children. She also works with The Adult Education and Training Centre as a Therapeutic Counsellor in their Youthreach Programme.

Jacqueline uses a Person Centred Approach but includes other approaches including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy when appropriate.  Jacqueline’s Creativity and use of the Arts plays an important role in developing and maintaining the client/therapist relationship and in helping the client, particularly children to express themselves in a Safe, Non-Judgemental Environment.
