Bereavement is the reaction to the loss of someone or something that affects us in a very personal and emotional way. We all experience bereavement at some stage in our lives and it can be particularly difficult if the loss was sudden or unexpected. Loss can also include losing a job, separation or illness. Grief is the emotional response to our loss and sometimes grief can be repressed (possibly for years) resulting in delayed grief. Therapists at the Ark Counselling Service work with people through this difficult time in a Safe and Supporting way.
